Jorge Luis Borges.
After a while, 'you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love is not to rely on someone
and the company is not safe and
beginning to learn that kisses are not contracts and presents are not
promises and you begin to accept your defeats head-
and with his eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not
with the pain of a child and learn to build your roads today because
the land of tomorrow is too uncertain to make plans.
After awhile you learn that the sun burns if you get too much. So
plant your own garden and decorate your soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
you're really strong and really you're worth.
Jorge Luis Borges.
